To catch Rainbowfish in The Sims 4, you need to reach Level 6 of the Fishing skill. Then, go to the parks of Willow Creek or Oasis Springs, grab your rod and start fishing for Rainbowfish. You don’t necessarily need to use bait to catch Rainbowfish.
Speaking of catching rare fish, once your Sim has reached Level 10 of the Fishing skill, go to the Oasis Springs park, use common fish as bait, and you’ll definitely catch something new.
To catch rare fish faster, fish at the spots that have sparking fishing signs. These shiny fishing signs indicate there are rare fish in the water.
Additionally, if a master fisherman is nearby, ask them to mentor you. Your Sim will fish like a pro while being mentored by a master fisherman.
Rainbowfish, just like any other fish, will spoil after 24 hours. To keep it fresh, put it in the fridge or in a fish tank.
Fishing is a pretty repetitive activity that involves spending long hours in nature. Having the Loner trait helps tremendously with this task allowing your Sim to focus exclusively on fishing.
Sims with a high Fishing skill level can earn lots of Simoleons by selling the fish they caught.
Of course, if you’re looking to complete your Fish Collection, you should not sell rare fish such as Rainbowfish. Instead, sell common fish.
