Sims 4: Body hair, growable body hair and shaving explained

Body hair is now available in The Sims 4. This feature is not coming only to people who buy the High School Years expansion pack. It’s available as a base game update.

You’ve got a lot of facial hair options that you can choose from. Using them will be really interesting, especially if you’re playing with teenage Sims.

Boys don’t have a full beard at that age, your whiskers are just coming in. You have plenty of facial hair options to capture that age in your gameplay.

What types of body hair are available in Sims 4?

There are four types of body hair available in The Sims 4:

  • Arm hair
  • Torso Hair
  • Leg hair
  • Back hair

By far, everyone’s favorite is back hair.

If you don’t like the idea of your Sim having visible body hair, you can have them shave.

How to shave body hair in Sims 4

To shave body hair in The Sims 4, go to the bathroom, click on the shower or mirror and select which type of body hair you want to shave. The game will launch a funny animation showing your Sim shaving their body hair.

You’ve got two main options when it comes to shaving. You can either shave down clean or to a preferred length.

Enable body hair growth

You also have to option to enable body hair growth in The Sims 4. As time goes by, your Sim’s beard will keep on growing. If you don’t shave, you’ll end up with an epic beard.

The option to grow hair in The Sims 4 is available only if you have High School Years installed.

Everyone else can access and use the body hair options. However, the option to actually grow body hair is available only in High School Years.
