Sims 4: How to Arrest the Right Suspect

sims 4 guide arrest the right suspect

If you decided to pursue the Detective career in The Sims 4, you need to make sure you’re not arresting the wrong Sim as this will negatively affect your performance.

In this guide, we’ll discuss some of the best tips and tricks that you can use to make sure you’re arresting and locking up the right suspects.

7 Methods to Arrest the Right Suspect in Sims 4

1. Aim for the Focused mood. Make sure your Sim remains in a high Focused mood when working on the cases. In this manner, they can develop their detective skills much quicker and make better decisions.

⇒ Tip: Hang a focusing painting in the interrogation room (maybe a space print or mathematical diagram) to keep your Sim focused while interrogating suspects.

2. Try to get the Genius Trait. This will come in very handy since it can make Sims Focused at the right moment, just when they need that a-ha moment for linking the missing pieces of the puzzle.

3. Get your hands on the Observant reward. Sims who are Observant quickly become aware of the traits other Sims have when first meeting them. This can come in very handy allowing your detective Sims to quickly sniff Sims engaged in the Criminal career.

Of course, even if your Sim does not possess this trait, you can still use the Get to Know interaction to learn more about a Sim’s traits.

4. Always assess the crime scene carefully. Take your time and carefully analyze all the possible clues and pieces of evidence.

  • Look for damaged objects, or things out of place and don’t forget to click the ground to get additional clues. Collect as many pieces of evidence as you can. Use the lab equipment to analyze evidence.
  • Talk to the witnesses in the house and then go outside on the street. Sims who seem to be lingering there are likely witnesses.

5. Use deep conversation and ask as many questions as possible when you think you have the right Sim. Keep in mind that the culprit will always be wearing what is described in the evidence.

6. Make sure your suspect has at least a couple of traits that match the clues in your notebook before you arrest them. Don’t arrest someone based on a single trait that matches the description.

7. Interrogate the suspect using their mood to your advantage. For example, if they’re worried, go ahead and Describe Horrors of Prison to push them to confess.

⇒ Tip: Don’t bluff, run an evidence-based interrogation. Gradually present the evidence until the bar is full and you’ll get your confession.

Use this strategy to arrest and lock the right suspects and close the case.
