I’ve recently encountered a weird glitch while playing The Sims 4. My Sim entered the bathroom, and took care of her bladder needs but was unable to leave the room.
Whenever I added a new task to her action queue, she would just wave at me telling me she could not open the bathroom door.
Why is my Sim always getting stuck in the bathroom?
The Agave Abode starter home in Oasis Springs is affected by an annoying glitch that can often prevent Sim from getting out of the bathroom.
This is a known issue that’s been affecting the game for many years.
By the way, a similar problem can sometimes affect the Goth House too.
Additionally, check if there’s an object in the way that could be preventing them from opening the bathroom door.
Check for low-hanging lights or other ceiling objects, as well as wall and floor objects that limit movement.
What to do if your Sim got stuck in the bathroom
Teleport your Sim
You can use the Teleport option to get your Sim out of the bathroom.
Press Ctrl, Shift, and C and type in testingcheats true. Then, press Shift and click on the area where you want your Sim to go, and select Teleport Here.
Travel to a different location
If your Sim is stuck in the bathroom, the quickest way to get them out is to have them travel to a different location.
Click on the Phone, select Travel, and simply have your Sim visit a different location.
Replace the door
Sometimes, various in-game items, including doors can get glitchy and stop working as intended. Enter Build Mode, delete your current bathroom door, and add a new door.
Use the “Reset Object” option
Press Ctrl, Shift, and C to open the Cheat console and type in testingcheats true to enable cheat codes. Then, press the Shift key and click on your Sim. Select the Reset Object option.
The Reset Object interaction will put your Sim back into a neutral playable state.
Check if you can get your Sim out of the bathroom.
