Many ex-Origin users are wondering if they can redeem their Origin codes on the new EA App. That’s only one of the many questions they have after switching to EA’s new app.
Rest assured, if you forgot to redeem your codes on the Origin app, you’ll still be able to do that on the EA App.
You can redeem your Origin codes on the EA App without any problem. EA Support has confirmed that if you have a key that mentions it’s for Origin, you can redeem it on the EA App as long as it’s valid.
To redeem an Origin code on the EA App, login to your EA account, go to your library and click on the blue button that reads Redeem Code. Type in your code and hit Enter.
⇒ Important Note:
Double-check to make sure you’re logged into the right EA account. If you’re a parent and you want to add a game to your child’s account, make sure you’re logged into your child’s account.
The only situations where you won’t be able to use your Origin codes on the EA App are when they’ve already been used, or you’re trying to redeem an illegitimate code.
The EA App is EA’s new PC client.
From my own experience, the transition from Origin to the EA App is really smooth.
After hitting the Install button, the EA App will take care of the rest. It will automatically transfer all of your Origin games and add-ons.
