PlayStation VR Won’t Turn On | Fix Guide

PlayStation VR won't turn on fix

Starting your PSVR may sometimes turn into a real nightmare. Many users reported that sometimes the PSVR won’t turn on and only a strange beep noise can be heard.

If you can’t turn on your PlayStation VR console, here are a few suggestions to help you fix this problem.

Fix PlayStation VR Not Turning On

Fix 1 – Remove the extension cable

If you’re using an extension cable to connect the headset to the processing unit, try plugging the headset directly into the processing unit.

Some users also suggested that you need to first boot up the console and only then connect the extension cables.

Anyway, you can test both variants and see which one works for you. You can also replace the extension cable to make sure you’re not using a faulty one.

Fix 2 – Launch a VR Game/ App

Keep in mind that the front lights won’t turn on until you actually run a PSVR compatible app or game.

If you simply put your headset on, you’ll only see the PS4 screen but as soon as you load a VR game, all the remaining lights will turn on.

Fix 3 –  Apply More Pressure to Ports

Many gamers confirmed that some of the white ports are often faulty and this is way your PSVR won’t start. Applying a bit more pressure after plugging the cable from the bottom should fix the problem.

Fix 4 – Update PlayStation VR

Make sure that you’re running the latest PSVR software version.

  1. Go to Settings > Devices
  2. Select PlayStation VR Software > select Update PlayStation VR Device Software
  3. Wait until the new software version is installed > turn on your headset.

Fix 5 – Unplug your processing unit

If your processing unit doesn’t have any light on it or if the light is red, try power cycling it. Unplug the power cord and wait for about five minutes. This should give it enough time to fully reset. When plugging it back in, try using another outlet.

Contact PlayStation support

Well, if nothing worked, try contacting PlayStation support and check if you need to have your equipment replaced.
