Can you play all The Sims 4 expansions at once?

Sims-4-play-all-expansions-at-once

You can play all The Sims 4 expansion packs at the same time provided that your computer can handle the task. Expansions work by expanding your Sims 4 base game with new content. They’re designed to blend together perfectly to expand your Sims 4 universe.

They’re not different games. They’re part of the same game.

All the expansion-specific items are transferable. This means you can use the items from one specific expansion pack across all the Sims 4 worlds.

Of course, if you own a low-specs computer, the game may sometimes become laggy when you’re playing with all the expansions enabled.

As a quick reminder, there are currently 12 Sims 4 expansion packs available, and 12 game packs. The base game and all the 12 expansion packs can take up to 45 GB of storage space on your machine.

The Sims 4 is worth playing without any DLC only for a while. But after a few weeks, the game tends to become boring.

But there’s one major disadvantage when playing all Sims 4 expansions at the same time.

Disruptive notifications when playing multiple Sims 4 expansions

The most annoying thing for me when playing with multiple expansions is getting all sorts of notifications about events that have nothing to do with my current gameplay.

Let me explain.

I’ve spent a lot of time lately exploring High School Years. I played all sorts of scenarios and experimented with various career paths such as the video game streamer career or the Simfluencer career.

I even had some of my Sims drop out of high school to focus more on making money.

Getting notifications about the Finchwick Fair while I was focusing on my Sim’s video game streamer career was annoying.

My main priority was growing my Sim’s followership. I wasn’t at all interested in attending the fair. I’m sure my Sim wasn’t either.

But that was my mistake.

I should have simply disabled the packs that had absolutely nothing to do with my current gameplay.

You can disable the packs you don’t want to load. Go to your Origin game library and use the Advanced Launch Options to disable them.

Well, that’s the only major disadvantage I can think of when playing multiple Sims 4 expansion packs simultaneously.

Well, I guess I could add expansion-specific bugs to the list as well. But that’s a topic for another day.

Do you usually play The Sims 4 with all the expansions enabled? Or do you disable those that don’t really match your current gameplay?

⇒ Quick Tips:

If your Sims 4 expansion packs won’t show up in the game, disable your mods, repair your game, delete your cache and update the game.

Even if you own all The Sims 4 expansion packs on your PlayStation console, you can’t transfer them to your PC due to system incompatibility limitations.

Happy Simming!
