Can I sell items to NPCs in New World?

You cannot sell items to NPCs in New World. There are no merchant NPCs in the game. As a matter of fact, NPCs will take a step back when you’re selling items. You can sell your items only to other New World players. You need to find a player who thinks your items are valuable and wants to buy them.

New World relies on a player-based economy. This means you need to interact with other players to sell and buy items. It’s time to brush up your social skills!

Get sociable, and interact with other players. Don’t be afraid to use bartering, and other marketing strategies to make your items more appealing to potential buyers.

What do you do with unwanted items in New World?

If you’ve got a lot of stuff that you don’t really need anymore, you can either sell those items or simply throw them away. Instead of carrying useless weapons and armor with you, selling or throwing them away is a much better option.

You can use Trading Posts to sell your items to other players. If you’re a bit shy, that’s the perfect method for you as it doesn’t involve any player interaction. You can find these Trading Posts within settlements.

The catch is that they’re are isolated from one another. In other words, players need to go to the same Trading Post where you left your items to buy them.
