Sages are very interesting characters in The Sims 4. They drew the attention of many gamers who wondered if their Sims could become Sages and whether regular Sims could have babies with Sages or not.
Other players prefer a long-term commitment to the Sages and were curious to find out if they can marry one.
Can you marry a sage in The Sims 4? Your Sim can marry any of the Sages in The Sims 4. Players can even incorporate Sages in their family play and have them in their household permanently. Once a Sage moved into your household, the game automatically generates a new Sage to replace the one that moved to the realm of the mortals.
To marry a Sage, all your Sim needs to do is propose and plan the wedding. The whole action will take place as if it were the wedding of two regular Sims.
Alternatively, you can simply invite the Sages over and skip the marriage part. You will be prompted with the move-in screen once they get married but you can skip this step as well.
This means that your Sim and the Sages can get married without moving in. This approach presents a series of benefits.
Why Sages should not move in after marrying your Sim
If the Sages don’t move to your household after marriage, they get to keep their roles of Sages. That’s a really nice marriage gift for them. After all, they were specially created to fulfill this role so why take it away from them?
If the Sages don’t move in, you can’t control their actions and this makes the whole game (and marriage) much more fun. Give the Sages a resident key, so they can stop by whenever they want.
When they do, your Sim can ask them to stay the night and spend some time together. Not controlling your Sim’s spouse and letting them act autonomously takes the game and their relationship to the next level.
This player perfectly sums up the whole thing:
I want my played sims’ partners to remain autonomous and uncontrollable. The first time I married a sim and moved them in I was disappointed that I could suddenly control them. It felt.. wrong? Like they were no longer a separate person but just another object to control. It certainly put a damper on the way I viewed relationships in the game.
Speaking of marrying the Sages, there’s another question that many players asked.
Is Morgyn Ember male or female? Morgyn Ember is a non-binary character and they cannot become pregnant or get other Sims pregnant. This fact is reflected in their appearance: a masculine frame and preference for feminine clothing.
⇒ Over to you now: Do you prefer to control the Sages and turn them into playable characters? Or you just let them be autonomous?
And now you know.
