How to fix PS5 error code CE-108262-9

What does error code CE-108262-9 mean on my PS5?

PS5 error CE-108262-9 indicates the console couldn’t read the system software or application data. Usually, a simple restart should fix the problem. The error may also occur when the graphics of your display are not in sync with your console’s graphics settings.

Update your console

As Sony suggests, check for updates and update your system software to the latest version. Make sure to update your apps and games as well. Check if the problem persists.

To update your PS5 system software version, go to Settings → System →  System Software Update → Update System Software → Update Using Internet and check for updates.

To update your PS5 games, you need to go to the home screen, and select the game that triggered the error. Then hit the Options button on the DualSense controller and select Check for Update.

Boot into Safe mode

Check if booting the console in Safe mode solves the problem.

  1. Hold the Power button on your console’s front panel to turn it off.
  2. Release the button when you hear the second beep.
  3. You can now connect your controller.
  4. Press the PS button to pair the controller to your console.

Use a different waveband

Other users suggested using a different waveband (2.4GHz or 5GHz) or switching to an Ethernet cable connection. You can also test with a different connection and check if you notice any improvements.

Lower your resolution

A number of users confirmed that lowering the resolution fixed the problem. For instance, if your resolution is set at 2160, lower it to 1080 and check if the console still crashes.

Use the error reporting option
