What is PS4 error CE-30005-8? PS4 error code CE-30005-8 usually indicates that there is an HDD or Blu-ray / DVD drive problem somewhere which is preventing you from running your games.

When does error CE-30005-8 occur? This error may occur all of a sudden when users launch their games. The game loading process freezes with a blue screen.

Error CE-30005-8 may also occur when players try to save their game progress. In this case, the error code is accompanied by a message informing users that they need to free up 0 KB of memory to continue.

Well, if you’re experiencing this issue, follow the steps listed below to fix it.

How to fix PS4 error CE-30005-8

Fix 1 –  Check your disc

Make sure that your disc is not scratched or damaged. If it has specks of dust or dirt or even fingerprints on it, take a soft, clean cloth and use it to gently wipe the disc.

Fix 2 –  Disable mods

Some gamers confirmed that disabling recently added mods helped them fix this error code. While this solution may not work for all users, it is worth trying it out. Keep in mind that some mods may not be compatible with your current game content and settings.

Fix 3 –  Rebuild the database

Here’s how you can rebuild your database:

  1. Press and hold the power button to turn off the console.
  2. Now, press and hold the power button again until you’ve heard two beeps (it should take about 10 seconds).
  3. Connect the controller using the USB cable > press the PS button on the controller.
  4. The Safe Mode window show now be available > select option 5 Rebuild Database.

This workaround helps you create a new database of all the content stored on your console.

Keep in mind that the whole process may take a while, depending of the number of saved items.

Fix 4 – Reinstall the problematic game

If this error occurs only when you try to launch or save a particular game, chances are that there’s something wrong with that particular title (most likely, missing or corrupted game files).

In this case, the best solution is to delete and re-install the game.

  1. Save your game data on an external storage device.
  2. Navigate to the the problematic game > delete it and then re-install it
  3. Go to Settings >  Application Saved Data Management to restore your save data from the storage device.
