Have NHL 23 and keeps doing this even though I’m not playing online super annoying is this game useless?

Using the instant replay function while in sync screen lock, i was able to determine that your player is being controlled by AI while the sync lock is happening – so at least thats something. Also i found that if you wait for a faceoff or change of period, it syncs and you get control back.
