If you’re having trouble loading a specific world in Minecraft, follow the troubleshooting steps below to fix the issue.

Fix: Minecraft won’t load world

Clear local data and resync your worlds

Clear your local save data to force the console to retrieve the saves from the cloud.

  1. Navigate to Network Settings and go offline
  2. Then, go to Settings
  3. Select All Settings →  System →  Storage →  Manage Storage
  4. Go to View contents, and select Minecraft
  5. Hit the button with three lines, and select Manage game
  6. Go to Saved Data
  7. Select Delete from console
    • Note: Rest assured, the data is on the server, and you can get it back
  8. Shut down your Xbox and wait for one minute
  9. Turn your console back on and go online
  10. Launch Minecraft
  11. Go through all of your worlds and sync them
    • Note: Don’t load any world, just sync them
  12. After syncing all of your worlds, exit Minecraft
  13. Wait for 30 seconds and restart the game

When you finish playing Minecraft, your save data is synced with your cloud saves. When you launch the game again, your worlds should automatically sync.

Repair the CURRENT file

The main reason why Minecraft fails to load a specific world is because the \db\CURRENT file is corrupted.

  1. Backup your Minecraft world
  2. Go to the location where your worlds are stored
    • Note: For most users, this should be C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\games\com.mojang\minecraftWorlds
  3. Locate the world that won’t load
  4. Open it and open the DB folder as well
  5. Locate the MANIFEST-xxxxxx file
  6. Then, copy the name but not the file itself
  7. Open the CURRENT file with Notepad
  8. After doing that, delete everything in the file but keep the file
  9. Paste in MANIFEST-xxxxxx
  10. Save the changes
  11. Check if you can load the world

  1. How do you “sync” the worlds? I can’t seem to find how to do this. I’m on PlayStation 5 and have the same problem. is there anything that can fix it for me??
