Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Auto Cure Not Working

fix final fantasy 7 remake auto-cure not working

The Auto-Cure Materia in Final Fantasy 7 Remake is not working? Read this guide to learn why that happens, how you can fix it, and get additional useful tips on using this feature.

Why Can’t I use Auto-Cure in Final Fantasy 7 Remake?

The only FF7 Remake characters that can use Auto-Cure are those not being controlled by you. The best approach is to give Auto-Cure to a character you don’t control that often. They can heal you and your allies if you get damage during the battle.

Keep in mind that the character using Auto-Cure needs to have 4 MP and 1 ATB to be able to cast the spell.

⇒ Important note:

The Auto-Cure spell is cast only when your HP is in the red. If there is no character with a health level in the danger zone, Auto-Cure won’t be used.

For this reason, Auto-Cure is not that reliable. By the time the AI decides to cast the spell, it might be too late for your allies. Moreover, ATB charges very slowly.

If the character using Auto-Cure doesn’t have the ATB bar full, the feature is unusable. You can use Auto-Cure with Refocus for better results.

As you can see, there is really nothing to be fixed about Auto-Cure. All you need to do is make sure all the conditions are met for this feature to be used.

Here are some more useful tips about Auto-Cure.

How do I unlock Auto-Cure Materia in Final Fantasy 7 Remake?

First, you need to meet Tifa in Sector 7 Slums. Complete the missions given in the Residential Area to unlock access to the Weapon Vendors Shop where you can buy Materia, weapons, and more useful items.

The cost of Auto-Cure Materia is 100 Gil.

To unlock Auto-Cure Materia, first assess the monsters you see scavenging around the slum and fight them. Then go to  Chadley to get a new quest to gather Intel reports. Chadley will reward you with new Materia in exchange for the data from the reports.

You can then infuse the Auto-cure Materia on your weapon to restore a certain percentage of health after your allies took damage. This is a very handy feature to use, especially during boss battles.

How Does Auto-Cure Materia Work?

You can use Auto-Cure Materia to heal your allies after they took damage in battle, including severely injured allies.

As you level up, you can heal more allies. For example, at Level 1, you can heal allies three times. If you already used this feature three times, it won’t be available the fourth time you try to use it.

Use Auto-Cure wisely at level 1, you don’t want to run out of Materia when you need it most. At Level 2, you can use Auto-Cure 10 times.

Keep in mind you can’t use this feature if you are controlling the player who has Auto-Cure.

Happy gaming everybody!
