If you want to take your Twitch account to the next level, you need to have a Subscribe button. But that’s not that simple. There is a series of conditions you need to meet in order to be able to add a Subscribe button to your Twitch channel.

Subscriptions are very important for streamers helping them to build popular Twitch channels. Your subscribers attract even more viewers and new potential subscribers. Apart from popularity, there is also a lucrative side to this matter.

Subscribers offer recurring income. This means you can make your dream of become a full-time streamer come true.

How to Enable a Subscribe Button on Twitch

Step 1 – Requirements for the Twitch Subscribe button

You need to be a Twitch Affiliate or Partner

First of all, in order to add the subscription feature, you need to become a Twitch Partner or Affiliate. Only streamers who are either Twitch Affiliates or Partner have access to this feature.

Here’s how to become a Twitch Affiliate or Partner:

  • Broadcast a minimum of 500 minutes
  • Have 7 unique broadcast days in a 30-day period (stream every day if possible)
  • Make sure you have at least 3 or more concurrent viewers
  • Get at least 50 followers.

Broadcast consistently

Second, you need to be consistent. You need to broadcast several times per week in order to be eligible for this program. The more hours you stream, the bigger your viewership. Consistency is one of the keys to building a successful Twitch account.

How to attract more viewers to your Twitch channel:

  • Let your friends and family know you’re streaming. Send them your channel link and let them know when you’re going live.
  • Use social media to let people know you’re streaming and invite them to join the fun.

Step 2 – You’ll get an invitation from Twitch

After you’ve met the four requirements listed above, you’ll receive an invitation from Twitch Admin. Do check your inbox and the spam folder to make sure you don’t miss the email.

After you received the email, go ahead and create your Affiliate account and provide Twitch with the information they required.

Step 3 – Set up the Sub button

After you got your affiliate invitation, go to your Settings tab. You’ll notice there’s a new section there — one that lets  you enroll in the Affiliate Program and set up your very own sub button.
