Is there a way to save Melina in Elden Ring? YES!

Elden-Ring-solution-to-save-Melina

So, you just got to the point where Melina’s fate is your hands. But you don’t want her to sacrifice herself and become the kindling that sets the Erdtree aflame. The good news is that there is a way to save her.

How do I save Melina in Elden Ring?

To keep Melina alive in Elden Ring, you need to get the Frenzy Flame and ignite the Erdtree yourself. Then, complete Milicent’s quest to unlock Miquella’s Needle which you can use to cure the frenzy. Go to the Dragonlord Placidusax boss arena in Azula and use Miquella’s Needle to remove the Flame of Frenzy.

You’re now burnt and maidenless, but Melina is technically alive out there. However, she gets so pissed off at you for inheriting the Frenzy Flame that she’ll disappear and you’ll never see her again.

Unfortunately, you can’t use Celestial Dew at the Church of Vows to mend your relationship with Melina. She’s gone for good.

Well, at least you don’t have frenzied eyes. After removing the frenzy, you’ll lock yourself out of the “Lord of the Frenzied Flame” ending. You can now select a different ending.

⇒ Important notes

Keep in mind that after igniting the Erdtree yourself, you need to complete Milicent’s questline to remove the frenzied flame. At the very end of Milicent’s quest, you’ll get an item called Miquella’s Needle. This needle is different from the golden needle.

Melina dies unless you activate the Fire Frenzy. The Erdtree has to burn for you to progress into the story. The event marks a point of no return. But you can choose to set the tree aflame yourself and save Melina or let her sacrifice herself.

Do you wish there was a way to mend your relationship with Melina? Would you be willing to embark on a new quest or fight bosses with huge HP bars just to keep the company of your maiden? Let me know in the comments below.

  1. I would have loved for more dialogue and additional story for saving Melina, for example instead of her being gone forever legit, like she leaves after youve gained the frenzied flame as per usual, but then after you cure yourself it would be epic for her to reach out to and say a line something along the lines of “Tarnished, Though wisheth not to become the frenzied flame, didst though not wish to burn the world, or merely, you protected me, just as I have you, mayhaps I misdjudged thine motives, for saving my life, could I once again offer thee myself as the role of maiden, that we together shall see thine self rise to elden lord together” If selected no she responds with “I see, you wish tot ravel alone, I will watch from afar, good luck tarnished.” and she dissappeares forever until the end for a secret scene where she shows up and congradulates the tarnished and resumes the normal ending as usual, if selected yes then “Alright, I once again shall play the role of maiden, and you shall become our elden lord.” with some extra dialogue at sites of grace with *Speak with Melina* options resulting in questions about what it was like, being a vestige for the flame of chaos and whot not, it wouldve made the future dialogue post end game very very intriguing to say the least.
