Blaidd is one of the coolest Elden Ring NPCs. Unfortunately, he has the saddest ending in the game. He loses his mind after faithfully serving Ranni for years.

Can we save Blaidd in Elden Ring?
There is nothing you can do to save Blaidd from going insane in Elden Ring. His fate is sealed no matter what you do. Even if you don’t go back to him after finishing Ranni’s questline, he still loses his sanity. Sure, he’ll be alive but won’t be the same person.
If you want to keep Blaidd alive in Elden Ring, don’t fight him. Instead, fast travel inside the tower and put the ring on Ranni’s finger. She can get what she wants without you killing Blaidd.
Blaidd will remain there, waiting for Ranni, with his insanity as his only companion.
If you go to Ranni’s Rise, you’ll need to fight Blaidd. Some players will still choose to go there to get their hands on Blaidd’s equipment.
Blaidd is destined to lose his sanity
There is a greater purpose than Blaidd’s sanity in Elden Ring and that involves him losing his mind and dying. Putting him to rest and ending his misery is one of the best things you can do as a reward for his faithful service.
Confining Blaidd in the Evergaol or killing the Black Knife assassins won’t change anything. Exhausting all his chat lines won’t do anything either.
Unfortunately, you can’t give him the the unalloyed needle to help him break free the gods’ influence.
You can’t do anything to help him escape his fate. But then again, this been a common leitmotif of every FromSoftware game so far.
Cool characters always have to die and players need to use their imagination to figure out how and why that happened. Blaidd’s destiny is no exception to this rule.
