Elden Ring: Should I pledge service to Kenneth Haight?

Elden-Ring-pledge-service-to-Kenneth

Kenneth Haight is an NPC who needs your help to reclaim his fort after a Stormveil knight took control of it. After successfully completing the mission, Kenneth will give you the Erdsteel Dagger and ask you to pledge service to him.

Is this the right decision? Let’s find out!

Should I pledge service to Kenneth Haight?

You should not pledge service to Kenneth. He cannot make you a knight or give you other special rewards apart from the Erdsteel Dagger.

There are no negative consequences if you don’t enter his service.

Rest assured, even if you pledge service to Kenneth Haight, that won’t lock you out from joining other NPCs’ quests down the line.

After entering his service, he’ll invite you to join a special ceremony at Fort Haight. Walk up to him, talk to him, and he’ll tell you the truth.

He’ll confess he told you a bunch of lies and used you to get his fort back.

Should I kill Kenneth?

Whether you kill Kenneth or let him live makes absolutely no difference. Kenneth’s quest ends the moment he gets his fort back.

If you kill him, you can loot a Golden Seed off his corpse that you can then use to upgrade your Healing Flask at a Site of Grace.

There’s another Golden Seed at the golden tree in front of Fort Haight. Grab that one as well as you need two Golden Seeds to upgrade your Healing Flask.

Who is Kenneth Haight?

Kenneth Haight is an NPC in Elden Ring. You’ll come across him in East Limgrave. As you explore, you’ll hear someone calling for help. If you follow the voice, you’ll find him.

Kenneth wants you to help him reclaim his birthright. He asks you to clear out Fort Haight, his family’s home, by defeating the Stormveil commander who currently occupies it.

What decision did you take? Did you kill Kenneth or spared his little life? Comment down below.
