Elden Ring: Can you get attacked at Sites of Grace?

Shaded-Castle-Ramparts-Site-of-Grace-attack

Sites of Grace are key locations in Elden Ring. They allow you to rest and replenish your HP, level up your character, as well as fast travel. They’re also supposed to be safe zones. Unfortunately that’s not always the case.

Can enemies attack you while resting at a Site of Grace?

Sites of Grace are generally safe zones where you can rest without worrying about enemy attacks. However, the Shaded Castle Ramparts Site of Grace is the exception to this rule. If you rest there for too long, you’ll get attacked by zombie-like enemies.

Intended behavior or just a bug?

It’s still unclear if this is intended behavior or a bug that FromSoftware failed to squash before release. Judging by players’ reports, it seems this is the only Site of Grace where you can get attacked.

The good news is that you should be able to kill the unexpected zombie visitors pretty easily. Having an enemy pull you out of resting at a Site of Grace can be really confusing.

The Shaded Castle Ramparts Site of Grace is the only one that has patrolling enemies nearby. The zombies usually patrol past the stairs and aggro when they see you.

Unfortunately, some players were away from keyboard when the zombies unleashed their attack:

I just discovered this fact as well at this same SoG. Unfortunately, I was on the toilet while it was happening, so all I could do was listen to my character get murdered.

It seems that if you go back to the same Site of Grace, the scenario repeats itself and you get attacked again by the same zombie.

I rested at the site of grace a second time to be sure it wasn’t a one time thing and after a minute or so, the zombie wandered over and my character just stood up from the Site of Grace.

Have you ever got attacked while resting at other Sites of Grace? Let me know in the comments below.
