Fix Demon’s Souls update issues on PS5

Demon’s Souls Remake is now available on the PS5. If you’ve been a fan of the game ever since it was first released on the PS3, you can play it again with enhanced graphics this time.

But first, you need to update the game and that’s the trickiest part. Many players encountered all sorts of errors during the process. Others reported the update process randomly gets stuck. Let see what you can do to fix this issue.

How to fix Demon’s Souls Remake not updating

Eject the disc or reinstall the game

Delete the game, eject the disc and then re-insert it. This simple workaround solved the problem for many players. Alternatively, you can also delete Demon’s Souls, restart your console and then reinstalled the game.

Leave the disc in

Leave the disc in and don’t do anything, don’t select anything. The update process should launch by itself after one or ten minutes. Have a little patience, wait until the update kicks in, and then check the results.

Restore your licenses and rebuild the database

  1. First, you need to delete your game from your system.
  2. Then go to SettingsUsers and accountsOther Restore licenses.
  3. Boot your console in Safe Mode.
  4. Rebuild the database.
  5. Navigate to SettingsNetwork.
  6. Go to Settings → turn off your Internet connection.
  7. Insert your disc and let the console copy the game.
  8. Enable your Internet connection.
  9. Go to your game’s home screen and select Options.
  10. Then check for updates. You may need to wait for one minute or so until the process starts but it should work.
