Attributes help you define your character’s capabilities in Cyberpunk 2077. Think of them as broad characteristics. Each Attribute contains specific skill sets. For example, the Cool Attribute contains the Stealth and Cool Blood skills.

In order to level up your Attributes, you need Attribute Points. To earn Attribute Points, you need to complete various missions and tasks around Night City. Based on your results, you’ll get experience points (XP). Every third level also rewards you with one Attribute Point that you can use to level up your character’s capabilities.

Can you respec Attribute Points in Cyberpunk 2077?

Cyberpunk 2077 doesn’t allow you to reset Attribute Points. To level up different character capabilities, you need to start a new game with a new character. You can try to bypass this limitation by keeping a few unspent Attribute Points at your disposal and use them when needed.

How many Attribute Points can you get in Cyberpunk?

You get 1 Attribute Point every 3 levels. The maximum number of Attribute Points you can earn across all categories is 49. The maximum number of Attributes you can use is 71. You get 15 Attribute Points when starting the game, plus 7 more when you create your character, and then 49 more for each level.

The best strategy is to focus on two or three areas and level up specific character skills. If you spread Attribute Points equally across all the five categories, your character will become a Jack of all trades, but master of none.

It’s best to invest a maximum of 20 points in a two or three skill set areas and make your character really good at certain tasks. Use the rest of the points to develop average skills in other categories.

Gamers think it’s annoying that you can’t reset Attribute Points

Many Cyberpunk players wish they had the option to respec Attribute Points depending on the context.

They gave us a way to reset our skill points, but without a way to reset attribute points, you’re kind of stuck with variations of the same build once you spend all your attribute points. It would be really nice to not have to restart the whole game just to try a new build, because I really, really, really don’t want to start this whole game over just so I can use big guns instead of pistols (effectively).
