This error can be a major roadblock for gamers, preventing them from accessing their purchased content.
In this guide, I’ll provide you with step-by-step solutions to activate your game in no time. Buckle up and let’s get to the bottom of this pesky issue!
Do this if you can’t activate games using your EA account
Uninstall your game and EA App
This solution applies to Steam users. If you’re not using Steam, jump to the next step.
To fix the issue of not being able to activate your game when using your EA account, you need to uninstall the EA app and FIFA 23 on Steam.
Reboot your computer, and install FIFA 23 on Steam first.
Once the installation is complete, hit the Play button.
Steam will automatically download the EA App and activate it for you.
Clear your app cache
Click on the three dashes in the left-hand corner of the EA app, scroll down to Help, click on App Recovery, and then select Clear Cache.
Restart your computer, and launch the EA App again. Check if you can activate your game.
Repair the EA App
- Go to Settings
- Click on Apps
- Locate the EA App
- Go to Advanced Settings
- Select the Repair & Reset option
The app repair option allows your computer to identify and fix any issues that may be preventing the EA App from running as intended.
Log out
Another helpful troubleshooting method is to log out of your account and then log back in.
Logging out and then logging back in can help refresh your connection to the EA servers and clear any temporary issues that may be preventing you from activating your game.
Give it a try and see if it helps resolve your issue.
If the issue still persists, reach out to an EA advisor via EA Help to make sure that this isn’t an account issue.
