Just as in real life, your Sims have to get a job to put bread on the table. The system is the same: your Sim wakes up in the morning, gets ready for work, arrives at the office, or goes to their home office, and starts working.
When the 8 hours of work are over, they get to do whatever they want in their free time.
However, there’s a frequently asked question that still hasn’t received a clear answer.
Can Sims have two jobs in The Sims 4?
Sims cannot have two full-time jobs or multiple full-time jobs in The Sims 4. They can pursue only one specific career path full-time. They cannot hold one full-time job and a part-time job either.
However, Sims can have two part-time jobs at once.
Just make sure the hours don’t overlap.
To avoid that, you can pick the morning shift for your first part-time job and the afternoon or evening shift for the other.
Extra money always comes in handy
The question of whether Sims can have multiple jobs makes perfect sense. More jobs mean more money, and the more money your Sim has, the better.
They can use it to upgrade their lifestyle and purchase expensive items.
There are odd jobs your Sims can do in addition to their normal jobs.
If your Sim needs more money, they can take up painting or writing at home, level up their skills, and then make some extra money using their skills as a side hustle.
Freelancing is another great option. In The Sims 4, freelancers, like those in the Tech Guru career, can take on side gigs in programming.
Each freelance project pays around $1000 simoleons, offering a neat way for Sims to earn extra income while keeping their main job.
Embark on a new career path
Although your Sim can pursue only one career path at a given time, they can embark on a new career whenever they want, provided that they quit the current one.
If your Sim reaches the highest level of skills in one specific career and they change jobs, they won’t go back to the highest level of the new career.
Irrespective of the branch you choose, your Sim will have to start from level 1.
The good news is that if you decide to rejoin a previous career, you’ll find yourself at the same level you were in before you left.
There’s an Unlimited Jobs mod though
Although the base game does not support multiple full-time jobs, you can get the Unlimited Jobs mod — if you’re not opposed to modding.
This mod lets your Sim have as many jobs as they want.
Updated in December 2023.
You can have more than one part time job now. You just can’t overlap the times.
This is straight up misinformation. I frequently have sims with 2 part time jobs or a sim in university with a part-time job. Whatever that mod is, it’s not necessary for holding 2 part-time jobs.
Hi Ella!
My bad, I should have been more clear about that.
Sims can’t have two full-time jobs simultaneously. But they can have two part-time jobs at once.
Thank you so much for your helpful feedback. I edited the post.
Have fun playing The Sims! 🙂
