Baldur’s Gate 3: What Happens if You Don’t Revive Gale?

Baldurs-Gate-3-Revive-Gale

If you don’t revive Gale in Baldur’s Gate 3, the game will be over after two long rests. If you take two long rests without bringing Gale back, your character will suddenly die on the third morning.

You’ll get a Game Over screen with an unfinished cutscene.

There is no way you can prevent that. No tricks or fixes. You have limited time. Bring him back or everyone dies.

Gale’s body is set to explore two days after his death. This means you only have 48 hours to bring him back.

Once Gale kicks the bucket, his body gets wrapped up in a spooky dark aura that can deal necrosis damage around it.

Then a ghostly version of him pops up to give you a talking-to, saying you better bring him back to life as he says, or else there’ll be trouble.

How Do I Revive Gale in Baldur’s Gate 3?

In Baldur’s Gate 3, bringing Gale back to life involves calling a Magma Mephit, which will give you a Scroll of Revivify for reviving him.

First, you’ll need to loot Gale’s pouch from his body. Your character will take some necrosis damage while looting Gale’s pouch from his dead body.

Open the pouch to get a letter and a flute. Read the letter and remember the notes for the flute.

Then, play the D, E, A, D notes on the flute to summon a Magma Mephit.

Say K’ha’ssji’trach’ash when prompted and hand the mephit the letter. The letter turns into a Scroll of Revivify that you can use to revive Gale.

What’s Gale’s Story?

Gale has a personal story that led him to search for a very old piece of magic called the Weave. This magic stuff is important for spells.

It was hidden long ago, and Gale wanted to give it back to the goddess of magic.

But the weave is too strong, and now it’s trapped inside him. He has to give it magic from strong things to keep it safe.

If Gale dies, the weave becomes dangerous and blows up, killing many people in a big area.

If you don’t bring Gale back in about 2 days of game time, the game ends.

And that pretty much sums up Gale’s story.

Happy Gaming!
