Fix-Baldurs-Gate-3-cannot-fast-travel-in-current-condition

Are you encountering an odd error in Baldur’s Gate 3 that prevents you from fast traveling? Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered.

Issue Description

Sometimes, when you try to fast travel in Baldur’s Gate 3, you might encounter an error message that states you can’t fast travel due to your current condition.

This can be frustrating, especially when you’re all set for a new adventure.

When this problem occurs, your character becomes stuck in camp, and you can’t fast-travel anywhere.

This typically happens immediately following a long rest.

Do This if You Can’t Fast Travel in Baldur’s Gate 3

Fix 1: Check if Your Character Is Downed

If Baldur’s Gate 3 says you can’t fast-travel in your current condition, this indicates the game thinks your character is currently downed.

If you try to rest at camp with your fellow party members, you’ll find that the game prevents your main character from long resting or camping due to the presence of a downed party member.

To fix the error that says you can’t travel in your current condition in Baldur’s Gate 3, have a teammate down your character and then proceed to pick them up again.

Fix 2: Go to the Main Camp

Move your character to the main camp. From there, attempt to teleport to a different location.

This might help resolve the fast travel issue. If it doesn’t, jump to the next solution.

Fix 3: Kill and Revive Your Character

If the game believes your character is downed when they’re not, you can down your character by any means necessary.

Then, revive them promptly. Test fast travel again.

Fix 4: The Grease Bottle Trick

Some players have reported success with this unconventional approach.

Drop a grease bottle on the ground. Let the bugged character walk back and forth on the grease until they fall.

Assist them in getting back up.

Check if the fast travel issue is resolved.

Fix 5: Shove the Bugged Character

Attempt to shove the bugged character. Use any in-game mechanics to push or move the character physically within the game environment.

Keep trying until you’re successful.

Remember, game glitches happen to the best of us.

These solutions should help you overcome the fast travel problem in Baldur’s Gate 3 and get you back to exploring the realms in no time.

Happy adventuring!

  1. If you have travelled to a new area, e.g. I travelled from the Githyanki Creche to the Last Light Inn, you must take a long rest. Even of you just had one.
