If you’re getting any error codes, make sure that you entered the correct SSID name on your console.
Create a new default Internet connection
Setting up a new Internet connection within your console’s menu may also fix this problem. Here are the steps to follow:
- Go to System Settings > select Internet> press the A Button > select ‘Connect to the Internet’.
- Wait until the console lists all the available Wi-Fi networks > select the name of your Wi-Fi network.
- If there is no free space in the connection list, delete some of the Wi-Fi networks available on the list.
- Enter your Wi-Fi network’s security key > select OK
- Your Wii U will now run a connection test > if the test is successful, select OK.
- Set your default connection.
Change your wireless settings
If the Internet connection is still unavailable, try changing your Wi-Fi settings. Change the wireless channels and test which one works best and change your wireless encryption as well.
Update your modem/router
Running outdated modem/ router firmware versions may prevent your Wii U console from connecting to the Internet. Install the latest firmware updates on your network hardware and check if the issue persists. Try reverting the router back to its default settings.
