Valorant is a really innovative game with a player base that’s growing by the day. In this guide, we’ll talk about gun buddies, what they are and why you should use them.
In Valorant, gun buddies are cosmetic charms that you can attach to your weapons to modify their appearance. You can use them to personalize your Agent’s weapons so as to better represent who they are. For example, Sova’s gun buddy is a tiny representation of his Owl Drone’s head.
Riot describes gun buddies in the following manner:
These little charms add a touch of flair to your arsenal. You’ll unlock a unique Gun Buddy in the second Chapter of any agent’s contract. So here. Take this, and take down your enemies in style.
To access the gun buddies you unlocked, open the Collection tab of each weapon and you’ll find the available gun buddies listed there. When you select a weapon, two tabs will open: a Skins tab and a Buddies tab.
How to unlock more gun buddies
There is only one way you can unlock new gun buddies: play each Agent until you reach tier six. Gun buddies are agent-specific, each Agent has their own personalized gun buddies.
Indeed, unlocking all the gun buddies for all the Agents will take you some time. But, hey, this is a free reward.

Complaints about gun buddies
While game buddies are great for adding a personal touch to your Agent’s weapons, many of them clip through the guns, as this gamer pointed out:
I think a lot of the gun buddies are super cool and customizing of guns are always welcome. The problem is a lot of them clip through the guns. Also skins like the reaver one have lots of extra parts that further clip with gun buddies. I know nothing about game physics, but maybe making the gun buddies interact with the physical parts of the gun to fix it.
Hopefully, Riot will take care of that soon after launch.
