At the time of writing, there are over 200K smartphone users who regularly play Teamfight Tactics. The game could have an even larger player base if it weren’t for the following error message: This item isn’t available in your country.
In this guide, we’ll talk about why this message appears on your phone and what it means.
TFT Mobile Available in SEA in the Fall of 2020
Teamfight Tactics is not currently available in the SEA region . So, for example, if you’re from the Philippines, when you try to download the game, you’ll get a message informing your that the title is not available in your region.
As Riot Games explained:
Unfortunately, we’re not aiming to launch TFT Mobile in Southeast Asia, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau until the fall of 2020. We know it’s incredibly frustrating not to be able to play at the same time as other regions, and we are focused on getting TFT Mobile in your hands as soon as possible.
The reason for this delay is that Riot needs more time to build the necessary infrastructure which require establishing the operational groundwork, rolling out the new Riot Games account system, extending Riot Direct (network improvements) to SEA, getting the necessary approvals to launch the platform in the region, and so on.
It is worth mentioning that TFT Mobile won’t be available as a cross-platform game in SEA.
The solution: Use a VPN
But if you can’t wait until the fall to get your hands on the game, you can install a VPN software and by-pass the geo-restrictions. The downside is that you might experience some lag issues if the VPN is slowing down your Internet connection.
Speaking of the game’s availability, there are certain requirements when it comes to running the game. You’ll be able to play TFT Mobile only on iPhones 6S or later. If you’re using an Android phone, you need OS5+ and at least 2GB of RAM and above to run the game.
And now you know.
