The Sims 4 comes with a handy option called Sim Profile that let you learn more about the Sims you have interacted with.
You can use this feature to learn more about the traits of a particular Sim. You can also check the Sentiments section to see how they feel about your Sim.
But sometimes, nothing happens when you click on Open Sim Profile or the panel appears mostly blank.
Here’s what you can do if you’re experiencing similar issues.
What to do if Sim Profile won’t open in The Sims 4
If Open Sim Profile is not working in The Sims 4, back out to Manage Worlds and then go back to your Sims. If the issue persists, go offline, disable your mods, and repair your game files.
Go offline
A simple workaround as going offline can work wonders. To play the Sims 4 without an Internet connection, enable Offline Mode in Origin.
Keep in mind that you won’t be able to access the Gallery while in Offline Mode.
By the way, many Simmers choose to play offline when a new Sims 4 update is available but they’re not ready to update their mods just yet.
Disable your mods
If you’re using mods, check if some of them got broken with the latest Sims 4 patch. Outdated personality trait mods often break Sim Profile.
When you install a new game version on your machine, some of your mods may become outdated. Some game features may stop working due to incompatibility issues.
Move your Mods folder to your desktop and clear the game’s cache files. Then, check if you can open the profile of a random Sim.
If the problem is gone, this indicates one of your mods is the culprit.
Update your mods to the latest version and move them back into The Sims 4 folder one by one. Check if Open Sim Profile works as intended.
Repair your game files
Go to your Origin game library, right-click on The Sims 4, and Select Repair.
Your game client will automatically scan and repair your game files.
If some of your game files got corrupted or accidentally deleted, this solution should do the trick.
Hope something helps.
