The Sims 4 Horse Ranch: Common Bugs & Glitches [FIX]

Horse Ranch Won’t Download

Many Simmers have expressed their frustration with The Sims 4 Horse Ranch expansion not downloading.

I cannot download the new ranch update. It only shows that it is preparing, and after almost half an hour, I think I’ll check again. I have already restarted and cleared the cache, but nothing helps.

To fix The Sims 4 Horse Ranch not downloading, press Get The Game button to start the download process, instead of using the Download button on the EA app.

If this method doesn’t work on the first try, restart your computer. Then, click on the Get the Game button again to resume the download.

Additionally, make sure that you have a stable internet connection and that your game is updated to the latest version.

If the problem persists, try clearing your EA App/Origin cache.

If the EA App is still stuck on the Preparing screen, check if these solutions fix the problem.

Sims Can’t Ride Horses

It can be quite frustrating when your Sim can’t ride the horses in The Sims 4: Horse Ranch. After all, that’s why you got this expansion in the first place.

When you use the Mount option, your Sim goes through the animation of getting on the horse, but then suddenly glitches off.

Make sure your game is up to date with the latest patches and updates.

Check for any conflicting mods or custom content in your game. Removing or updating problematic content might help fix the problem.

Additionally, try repairing your game.

Text Not Showing Up

Experiencing missing interaction texts, breed names, trait names, and item names after purchasing The Sims 4 Horse Ranch expansion pack can be frustrating.

Unfortunately, reinstalling the game doesn’t seem to help. This glitch seems to affect primarily console players.

Update: To fix the missing text issue on Steam, all you need to do is update your game. EA has rolled out a quick fix to patch this glitch.

Horses Walking on Hind Legs

In The Sims 4 Horse Ranch, you might come across a peculiar bug where horses start walking on their hind legs instead of their usual graceful gallop.

While this can be quite amusing to witness, it’s not the intended behavior for our equine friends!

This glitch usually occurs if you have a foal that’s just born and you age them up immediately with a special treat while they’re still Dazed.

If you encounter this quirky bug, try resetting the horse by using the Reset Object cheat.

Press Ctrl + Shift + C to open the cheat console, type in testingcheats true, and hit Enter. Then type resetSim [Horse’s Full Name] and hit Enter again.

For example, if your horse’s name is Happy Firefly, type in resetSim Happy Firefly.

Horses Shake in CAS

When creating a horse in CAS, if you zoom in on the horse, it starts shaking with small movements. The shaking continues in the detail view but doesn’t appear when zoomed out.

There’s no known workaround for this glitch.
