If your teenage Sim breaks the rules of Copperdale High, they’ll get detention.
This means they need to speed a couple more hours at Copperdale High instead of going home or hanging out with friends at Plumbite Cove.
Your Sim can get Detention for skipping classes, being late to classes, leaving class early on exam days, planting stink capsules in lockers, or pranking the whiteboard. Detention starts at 3 PM and ends at 5 PM.
To serve detention, go to the class where detention is held. Then, click on the whiteboard and select Serve Detention.
Why detention is useless in Sims 4 High School Years
If your Sim leaves class early on exam days, they can get detention. In other words, your Sim can get detention for finishing their exams before everyone else.
Basically, your Sim can get detention for being a diligent student, and studying for their exams.
That’s weird.
They can end up in bizarre situations where they ace their exams but get detention for leaving class before the exam ends.
To prevent these annoying situations, click on your Sim and select Prepare for next task. They should remain seated and work on the next task.
The detention system leaves a lot to be desired in High School Years. Your Sim cannot leave the high school building during detention but that’s pretty much all that happens.
They’re stuck in a room with one of the teachers or the Principal from 3 PM until 5 PM.
You can also try to become best friends with Principal Prescott and see if the new status brings additional advantages. Maybe she’ll turn a blind eye next time you do something worthy of detention.
Who knows?
Conclusion
Skipping classes, being late for classes, leaving class early on exam days, and pulling pranks can get you detention in The Sims 4. Your teenage Sim needs to spend two more hours at Copperdale High. Detention starts at 3 PM and ends at 5 PM.
