There’s a new Self-Discovery system in The Sims 4 Growing Together that allows Sims to unlock additional traits.
Thanks to the new system, your Sim’s personality will be more complex.
Howt does Self-Discovery work in The Sims 4?
Depending on how you’re playing your Sim, there will be moments when the game will give them additional traits.
The game reacts to how you’re playing.
You’ll get a pop-up that says the game thinks your Sim is likely to have a specific trait. You have the option to accept or reject the suggestion.
If you accept it, that trait will be added to your Sim’s list of traits.
Through the self-discovery system, Sims can get up to six personality traits.
This means they can get three additional traits through self-discovery.
For example, your Sim may get the Ambitious trait after getting promoted.
Let’s say you have a Slob Sim and they end up cleaning up a lot. The game will notice you’re not playing that Sim as a slob and will ask you if you want to get rid of that trait and put Neat instead.
As you can see in the screenshot below, my Sim wanted to be a writer but I decided to focus on painting instead. The game reacted to the way I played and suggested I should add the Art Lover trait — which I did.
That’s another way that Growing Together allows your Sims to evolve depending on how you’re playing.
⇒ Fun Fact:
If your Sim has the Bro trait, they can Discuss Conquests with another Sim that shares the same trait. Basically, this means talking about past romantic encounters and partners.
Happy Simming!
