In The Sims 4: For Rent, Unit Ratings are determined by four categories: Size, Amenity, Environment, and Maintenance.
To maintain high Unit Ratings for your rental property, build spacious rooms or apartments, add amenities to enhance the lives of your tenants, and ensure everything stays functional and clean.
Let’s break down the Unit Rating factors.
Size
Increase the unit’s size to raise the tier’s quality.
Bigger units mean a better living vibe. Your tenants get room to breathe, move around, and just live better.
Having a bit more room also lets you arrange things nicely. You can throw in all the must-haves and even add some cool extras.
Amenities
Place items from Build Mode such as beds, toilets, showers, bathtubs, skills/hobby activities, and appliances in a unit to raise the tier’s quality.
Toss in amenities that make your tenants feel like they’ve won the lottery – happy tenants, happy life, right?
It’s important to ensure that the amenities and all the additional features you add match your tenant’s personality.
For example, if they’re into sports, adding a treadmill is a nice idea.
Amenities can draw Sims out of their units and into shared spaces.
Sims autonomously use objects like exercise equipment, grills, or laundry equipment in these shared areas.
Environment
Provide decorations and create a cozy and welcoming atmosphere.
The For Rent Expansion Pack introduces numerous decor pieces inspired by Southeast Asian aesthetics, including wood carvings, rattan chairs, beautiful fabrics, curtains, and more.
Use these items to decorate your rental units.
Trust me, your tenants will love it.
Maintenance
Keep the unit and shared spaces clean and well-maintained. Greet and initiate positive interactions with your tenants. Abide by the Unit Rules and participate in events to raise the tier’s quality.
Maintenance will start as poor for all units until you use some interactions to improve that.
What Happens if Unit Ratings Drop Too Low?
If your ratings drop too low as a property owner, tenants might revolt, and you could also deal with surprises like bugs and challenges such as mold.
If you fail to get rid of mold, mold deaths could occur. Mold is more than a mere nuisance. It can be deadly.
If one of your tenants dies from a mold infection, your Unit Ratings will drop.
When your Unit Ratings start doing the limbo and dipping low, your chances of reeling in new tenants or snagging the rent you dream of go on a bit of a nosedive. It’s like trying to sell a scratched-up CD at full price.
Keep in mind, that the higher the Unit Rating, the more tenants you’ll attract.
Wrapping It Up
In the realm of The Sims 4: For Rent, it’s not just about building walls and tossing in furniture. It’s about keeping those elusive Unit Ratings high, keeping the harmony, and avoiding the chaos that comes knocking when things go south.
Enjoy the game!
