You can get fairy dust in a few different ways in The Sims 4:
- Fairies sometimes drop it after bathing or woohooing
- You can ask fairies for some — they almost always say yes
- Shake fairy houses to see if any has built up
- You might find it lying around Everdrew
How to Use Fairy Dust in The Sims 4
Gardening Enchantments with Fairy Dust
Any Sim, including fairies, can use fairy dust to enchant plants in the garden.
Once enchanted, plants take care of themselves. They get auto-watered, stay weed-free, and don’t get bugs.
If the game has Seasons, enchanted plants can even grow out of season.
The Pixie Problem with Enchanted Gardens
There’s a catch to enchanted plants — they attract pixies.
Pixies aren’t dangerous and are actually kind of cute. But they block your Sim from interacting with the plants.
To fix this, your Sim has to shoo pixies away. The annoying part is that you have to do this one plant at a time, and this takes an awful lot of time.
If the garden is big, this can get super tedious because you have to walk up to every plant with a pixie and shoo it off.
Use Fairy Dust to Enchant Various Items
You can also enchant items like candles or art using Fairy Dust. The enchanted items will get a special aura, which is a cool way to mix crafting and magic.
You can also use it to enchant gnomes and have them help with tasks like gardening, repairing, cleaning, or guarding your home.

But don’t push your luck. If you rely on gnomes too much, their Council gets annoyed—and then the gnomes start breaking things instead of helping.
