If your Sim wants to have a large family or you’re doing the 100 Baby Challenge, the last thing you want to happen is losing a baby.
Unfortunately, your Sim’s babies may sometimes disappear right after birth.
The bassinet is there ready but there’s no baby. This glitch usually occurs when your Sim gives birth at the hospital.
Reset the bassinet
Try resetting the bassinet itself. Enable cheat codes, click on the bassinet, and select Reset Object.
The Reset Object interaction will put the bassinet and the baby back into a neutral playable state.
Additionally, check your household inventory. Sometimes, as weird as this sounds, there’s a second bassinet on top of the baby. The second bassinet that spawns unexpectedly messes with the baby.
Remove it and check if your baby shows up in the game.
Go to CAS
If the baby is nowhere to be found, press Ctrl, Shift, and C, type in testingcheats on, and hit Enter. Shift-click on any Sim in your household, and select Modify in CAS.
Go into CAS and then back out of it.
There are two possible outcomes: you’ll either have your baby back or you’ll get a black baby instead.
Load a backup
If the problem persists, try loading a backup, wait until your Sim gives birth again, and check if the issue persists.
Try traveling to a different lot and check if that helps.
Go to a household you’ve never played
If your baby appears in the lower left-hand corner of the screen, but they’re nowhere to be seen when you click on their icon, this indicates there was not enough room around the birth pillow or birth pool when your Sim gave birth.
As a result, the game had to send your baby somewhere else when they were born.
To fix this problem, go to Manage Worlds and load a household you’ve never played before to reset the problematic household.
After loading a household you’ve never played with, go back to your household and check if the baby is there. Double-click on the missing baby’s icon and the game should take you straight to them.
Did you manage to bring your baby back? Let me know in the comments below.
Happy Simming!
