Being able to get an aerial view of your neighborhood or town in The Sims 4 makes it a lot easier to decide how to edit lots and customize your virtual world.
The bird’s-eye view gives you a better picture of the current architecture and allows you to make better and faster decisions.
How to Switch Camera to Top View in The Sims 4
Method 1: Scroll out
- Step 1 – Point the camera at the ground
- Step 2 – Scroll out using your mouse wheel
- Step 3 – Press the Shift key to speed it up.
Method 2: Click on the camera cube
- Step 1 – Click the camera (go to the top right-hand corner)
- Step 2 – Click on the cube — it will change from a normal angle, to a bit higher of an angle, and then to an aerial view
- Step 3 – Click the cube to get back to the normal view angle.
Method 3: Edit your View settings
Alternatively, you can also change the view settings to a Sims 3-style camera in Game Options.
Alternatively, you can press Ctrl, Shift, and Tab to toggle the camera modes on the fly.

If you’re stuck on the top-down view, you may have pressed the T button without even noticing it. Press the T button again to change the view.

- Repair the game through Origin
