Can you play Valorant with a controller? Gamers can play Valorant with a controller but they won’t be able to fully enjoy the capabilities of their controllers since the functionality is limited. There is no aim assist, key binding or dead-zone adjustment.
Disadvantages to playing Valorant with a controller
If you choose to play Valorant with a controller, don’t be surprised if you’ll quickly change your mind. Valorant is primarily designed for mouse and keyboard and you’ll get the best possible results on this hardware configuration.
Playing against mouse and keyboard gamers will not be easy even if you’re an expert in console gaming and you’ve been using a controller your whole life.
Keep in mind that not all the controllers are supported. As a matter of fact, there is no official list with the supported controllers. Riot has yet to publish any such information. Some controllers might work, while other won’t. Don’t buy a brand-new controller solely for playing Valorant. Especially not now, when controller support is shrouded in mystery.
If you’re used to the regular controller settings such as aim assist or dead-zone adjustments, you won’t find them on Valorant.
