Mortal Kombat 11 is the latest sequel in the series. This version brings an action-packed story mode that will keep you in front of the screen for hours on end. Obviously, after spending so much time playing Mortal Kombat, you don’t really want to lose your game progress.
But saving your game is not that straightforward. That’s why we decided to write this guide and list the steps to follow.
How to Save Your Game in Mortal Kombat 11
Does Mortal Kombat 11 save automatically? Mortal Kombat 11 will automatically save your game progress after you finish a fight, end a chapter, earn Koins, and progress through the Krypt. Progress is saved quickly, so you don’t need to worry about losing the items you just unlocked. Keep in mind the game does not have a dedicated manual save option.
Taking this element into consideration, if you’re playing story mode and you want to take a break from the game, the best moment to quit is after a fight. To do that, hit the Options button on your PS4 console or the Menu button on your Xbox console.
When you’re ready to jump back into the action, hit the Konquer option to go to the Chapter Select screen and continue where you left off.
Don’t end the game abruptly
If you end your game abruptly without reaching the goal of the respective challenge (such as winning the fight or unlocking various cosmetic items), there is no way to guarantee that your progress has been indeed saved.
A safe way to exit the game and save your progress is to use the Quit Game option to return to the main menu.
The worst-case scenario
In the worst-case scenario where you end your game abruptly or lose power, you’ll need to play again the last chapter you unlocked.
Mortal Kombat 11 save game location
On PC, your Mortal Kombat game save data files should be located on the drive where you installed the game.
On PS4, the save game should be located to Settings > Applications & Data Management > Save Data In System.
