Life is Strange Controller Not Working | Fix Guide

Life is Strange: Before the Storm is a funny and touching game to play with an interesting narrative. Unfortunately, the game is sometimes affected by controller bugs. Many players complained that the controller won’t work, although the game recognizes it.

After a couple of tests on other games such as Rocket League and Armello, I can say the controller isn’t the problem, but it seems LiS : BtS cannot be played with a controller (or Logitech F310 gamepad, at least) I don’t know if it’s only me, but it would be nice to get a hotfix for this, because my controller is working on every other games except the newest LiS.

A dedicated patch was deployed many months ago to fix this particular problem. But it seems the patch failed to fix the issue for all gamers.

Players found two additional solutions to fix this issue, but unfortunately, they won’t work for all gamers either. However, it is worth giving it a try.

Fixes for Controller Issues in Life is Strange

First solution

If you haven’t enabled controller support in the first place, don’t be surprised if you can’t play the game using your controller.

Here’s how you can do that:

1. Launch Steam > go to Settings > Controller panel
2. Select General Controller Configuration > a new window will appear
3. Enable Xbox Controller Support, PS4 or Generic pad support

Second solution

Use this method to enable controller support if you don’t have an official controller.

1. Launch Steam > click on the controller icon
2. When the Big Picture starts, select the settings button located in the right-hand corner
3. Open Controller Configuration > enable Xbox Controller Support
4. Return to dashboard > boot the game from the Big Picture Library.

Fixing controller issues on LiS : BtS is not an easy task and we can’t guarantee that the solutions above will work for you.

As a matter of fact, many players abandoned the game simply because they can’t solve controller issues.

Well, after I managed it, not to work for a gazillion times, my other games also stopped recognising my controller. So basically they give you this choice; play BtS with controller or play every other game in existence with a controller.

I rather opt for the 2nd and have personally given up on this game with a developing team that’s unable to provide proper controller support for this game.
