There’s an interesting feature that many Granblue Fantasy: Versus players don’t even know it exists. That is taunting.
While taunting is used to provoke someone, this feature can be quite fun to use, especially when you’re playing with friends and they won’t take your taunting too seriously.
When playing with complete strangers, it’s best not to use taunting at all — or, at least, keep it to a minimum. Taunting can get some players really mad. After all, let’s admit it, taunting is actually pretty funny as long as you’re the one doing it.
How to taunt in Granblue Fantasy: Versus
To use taunting in Granblue Fantasy: Versus , press C+D. You can also enable a special button configuration to use this feature as it is not set to any buttons by default. You can go to Configuration and set a particular button or button sequence for taunting.
Remember taunting in old-school fighting games?
If you used to play fighting games in your childhood or when you were a teenager, you clearly remember that taunts used to be a standard feature. In recent years, they were replace by other other visuals that were considered to be less offensive. Fans of old-school fighting games will be glad to see taunts back in Granblue Fantasy: Versus.
There are also many gamers who wish this genre could bring back those special clashes and other specific movements before fights. Modern fighting games replaced those clashes with cinematics. Some like it, some don’t.
Word of warning
Keep in mind that taunting limits your options. More specifically, you can’t cancel the taunt or block which leaves you unable to move or dodge. In other words, taunting at the wrong moment can be quite unsafe.
