If you’re trying to add friends on Valorant but you’re unable to because the requests didn’t work, keep on reading this guide to learn why that happens and what solutions you can use to fix the issue.
Before you do anything, make sure this is indeed a bug and it’s not a temporary outage. If Riot’s servers are down, you won’t be able to add friends nor play the game. Keep an eye on Valorant’s Twitter page for official news on any temporary technical problems.
Fixed: Can’t Add Friends in Valorant
1. Check your account region
The first thing you should do is check your Riot account and make sure you and your friends are in the same region. If one of you is in a different region, you can’t join your friends or receive invites from them.
If this is an error and your account appears to be in a different region than it really is, submit a support ticket to Riot and they’ll run the necessary checks.
2. Add your friends through Legends of Runeterra
A temporary workaround is to download Legends of Runeterra and use this title to add your friends.
Here are the steps to follow:
- Download and install Legends of Runeterra
- Launch the game
- When you reach the First Battle, click on the Add Friends icon
- Add your friends to the list
- Launch Valorant and your friends should now appear on the list
- Right click their name to send them the invites to your lobby.
There you go, you should now be able to send and receive invites and play Valorant with your friends. Playing games with friends is always fun and we hope one of these two solutions solved the problem for you.
