How to fix Splitgate matchmaking not working
Check if Splitgate’s servers are down
Matchmaking issues usually indicate Splitgate’s servers are down. Check if other gamers complained about similar problems recently. Go to Splitgate’s official Twitter account, and check if the devs already acknowledged the problem.
Frequent server maintenance
Splitgate is reaching new record numbers of concurrent players every single day. As a result, the devs are doing frequent server maintenance due to this massive influx of players.
They already doubled the server capacity, but the servers still get overloaded from time to time. Don’t freak out, wait for 10 minutes, and try again later. Hopefully, the connection to the servers has stabilized.
Restart the game and reboot your PC or console
If the servers are up and running, restart Splitgate and check if the issue persists. Additionally, restart your computer or console, launch the game again and check the results.
If the matchmaking issue you’re experiencing was triggered by some temporary OS glitches, restarting your PC or console should fix the problem.
Unplug your router
If your Internet connection is not stable, your PC or console may have a hard time connecting to Splitgate’s server for matchmaking. Unplug your router, and wait for two minutes. Then plug the router back in, and wait until you’re back online. Make sure to plug the device directly into a wall outlet.
Use custom game mode
Alternatively, log into a custom game someone is hosting. Check if matchmaking works afterwards. You should at least be able to play the game. Many gamers confirmed this quick workaround worked for them when matchmaking wouldn’t.
