How to Troubleshoot Sims 4 Error Code 110

sims 4 error code 110

The Sims 4 error 110 is an error code that affects households and prevents them from loading. Oftentimes, even if you relaunch the game – as prompted by the error window – nothing happens and the same error code pops up again on the screen.

What causes error 110 in The Sims 4? The most common cause for Sims 4 error 110 are outdated mods. This is because mod creators don’t always update their mods as soon as a new Sims4 update has been released.

How To Fix Sims 4 Error 110

Fix 1 – Check for outdated or broken mods

Try playing Sims 4 without any mods. Move the Mods folder to the desktop and then clear your game cache and delete the localthumbcache.package file from the Sims 4 folder.

After you did that, launch Sims 4 again and if the game loads without any problems, this indicates your mods or custom content files become outdated.

Now, that you know the mods or CC files are to blame for error 110, it’s time to check which mod or CC exactly is causing this issue.

To do this, try the 50/50 method and move each mod or CC file back one by one. Then load the game and check if error 110 appears. Delete the localthumbcache.package file from the Sims 4 folder after adding a new mod or CC file.

Carry on until you identified the problematic mod. Don’t save the game while testing with the 50/50 method.

Fix 2 – Load another household or lot

If you’re not using mods and you’re playing only the clean version of the game or the mod test described above didn’t yield any results, there’s something else you can do.

Load another household or lot first and then switch to the one that initially triggered error 110.

Many players confirmed that loading a different household than the bugged one did the trick for them. Hopefully, it will work for you too.
