troubleshoot PS4 error NP-36006-5

PS4 error NP-36006-5 is an old error that’s been affecting users for years. Unfortunately, it seems that this annoying error code is here to stay since users constantly complain about it.

So, is there a magic solution that you can use to get rid of this error once and for all? Well, we did the research for you and found a few workarounds that we’ll list below.

Potential Fixes for PS4 Error NP-36006-5

FIX ACTION DESCRIPTION

1

Sync your trophies

Many users suggested that this error code is actually triggered by trophy sync issues. Try to sync your trophies with the PSN and check if the error still persists.

  • Go to the Trophies icon (Trophies), press the Options button and select Sync Trophies with PSN.

2

Delete a game with no trophies

Other gamers tried a different approach: they deleted a game from their trophy list that had absolutely 0% unlocked trophies. They waited until the trophies synced up and were able to use their console again.

Here are the steps to follow:

  • Go to your PS4’s main menu > go to Trophies > select a game that has zero trophies on
  • Hit the Options button on your controller > go to Delete and that’s it.

It really doesn’t matter which game you select as long as it has no trophies on.

If you don’t have any trophies at 0%, obviously you can’t apply this workaround, so go to the next solution.

3

Delete your user account

Yes, all gamers hate this solution, but if nothing worked maybe a radical solution such as deleting your user account may help.

⇒ Important Note: Make sure that everything’s backed up properly before you actually delete the account. One way to do this is by going to Settings> System> Backup & Restore> Backup PS4.

  1. Take an ExFAT USB drive and connect it to your console > Copy your saved games to the USB storage device (go to Settings > Saved data management)
  2. Now it’s time to transfer your screen shots and videos to the same USB device
  3. Delete your user account from the PS4
  4. Add back your user > log in to PSN
  5. Transfer your saved games back to your PS4 and check if the console kicks you out of games again.

That’s it. I hope that one of these three solutions helped you fix PS4 error NP-36006-5.
