Halo Infinite may sometimes get stuck on the Loading Map screen. Interestingly, most of the time, the game gets stuck at 34 or 54 percent.
To fix the issue, restart your computer and try again. If the game still fails to load your map, use the troubleshooting solutions below.
Fix Halo Infinite not loading the map
Reset your Internet connection
If you’re using a wireless connection, switch to a cable connection.
Disconnect all the other devices connected to your network.
Unplug your router, leave it unplugged for two minutes, then plug it back into the wall outlet.
On Windows, launch Command Prompt with admin rights and run the ipconfig /flushdns command to clear the DNS cache.
Log out of your account
Sign out of your Microsoft account in Halo Infinite and exit the game. Turn off your computer, and wait for thirty seconds.
Turn on your machine and log back in. Launch Halo Infinite and check if the issue persists.
Delete Halo Infinite cache
Try deleting the game cache from the Halo Infinite folder and check the results.
- Launch Steam.
- Go to Halo Infinite.
- Select Properties.
- Go to Local Files.
- Hit the Browse button.
- Open the disk_cache folder.
- Then, open the gamecmcache folder.
- Delete all the files from that folder.
- Restart your computer.
Launch Halo Infinite. The game will automatically recreate the cache folder.
The loading time will be unusually long. This is because the game is recreating the cache folder.
Update your graphics driver
Be sure to update your graphics drivers to the latest version.
- Open the Device Manager.
- Go to Display adapters.
- Right-click on your graphics driver.
- Select Update driver.
- Restart your computer.
Alternatively, you can also manually download the latest graphics driver version.
Increase Windows virtual memory
If you have 16GB of RAM, set your minimum virtual memory to 8000 and maximum virtual memory to 12000.
Halo Infinite maps should load instantly.
- Click on the Search icon.
- Type Adjust the appearance and performance of Windows.
- Select the first result and hit Enter.
- In the new window, click on the Advanced tab.
- Locate the Virtual memory section, and click on Change.
- Write down what’s written in the Recommended value box.
- Clear the Automatically manage paging file size for all drives checkbox.
- Then, click on Custom size.
- Enter the Recommended value in the Initial Size box (8000).
- Then, enter a larger figure in the Maximum size checkbox (12000).
- Save the settings, hit Apply, and restart your computer.
Keep in mind that tweaking your virtual memory settings might cause system instability issues.
If your computer is equipped with a different amount of RAM, find a configuration that works for you.
Disable unnecessary network adapters
- Go to Windows Search.
- Type View network connections and hit Enter.
- The list of network adapters will show up on the screen.
- Disable all the network adapters except your current Internet connection.
- Restart Halo Infinite and check if the game loads the map as intended.
Disable the High-Res Texture DLC
To fix Halo Infinite infinite map loading issues, disable the High-Res Texture DLC.
- Launch Steam.
- Go to your Library.
- Right-click on Halo Infinite.
- Select Properties.
- Go to the DLC tab.
- Clear the Multiplayer High-Res Textures DLC checkbox.
Additionally, edit your game settings and run the game on low-medium settings.
Remove the Xbox Companion App
Try removing the Xbox Companion App. Many users confirmed that removing the Xbox Companion App helped them fix their map loading issues.
Additional solutions

- Set Halo Infinite in Task Manager to run in High Priority.
- Disable IPv6.
- Check for overheating issues.
- Disable overclocking software.
