This troubleshooting guide will show you how to fix the annoying issue where FIFA gets stuck on the loading screen. We’ll list specific troubleshooting solutions for different gaming platforms (PC, Xbox, and PlayStation).
Let’s dive right in, shall we?
Why is FIFA stuck on the loading screen?
If FIFA got stuck on the loading screen, the first thing you should do is check the server status page. The game won’t load if the servers are down.
If there are no known server issues, force the game to stop, and launch it again. Check for updates and install the latest FIFA game version. Then, power cycle your PC or console and unplug the router.
Go back online, and launch FIFA again.
If the issue persists, follow the troubleshooting steps below.
Fix FIFA Stuck on the Loading Screen on PC
Disable Origin cloud saves
To disable Origin cloud saves, go to Application settings, select Installations, and click on Saved Game States. Then disable cloud saves.
Change the FIFA file name
Go to % USERPROFILE%\Documents or % USERPROFILE%\My documents.
Change the name of the FIFA folder to My FIFA copy, and then restart the game.
⇒ Note: Single-player game saves may be lost (Career mode) but you can find the backup copy of locally saved games in the FIFA Backup folder.
Repair your game
If your FIFA files got corrupted or you accidentally deleted some of them, the game won’t load. You need to scan and repair your game files to solve the problem.
For more information, see Troubleshoot Origin games that won’t download, install, or load.
Delete Origin cache
If FIFA won’t advance past the loading screen, clear your Origin cache. Temporary Origin files may sometimes interfere with the game’s executable file.
For step-by-step instructions, see Clear cache to fix problems with your games.
Disconnect USB devices
If you leave your USB devices connected when launching FIFA, the game may often get stuck on the loading screen.
Disconnect your steering wheel, and other USB accessories that you don’t really need.
Fix FIFA Stuck on the Loading Screen on Xbox
Clear alternate MAC address
- Go to Settings
- Select Network Settings
- Select Advanced Networks
- Go to Alternate MAC address
- Press Clear
Restart your console, unplug the Xbox power cord out, and then plug the cable back in. Boot your Xbox up and launch FIFA again.
Turn off the controller
Other users said that turning off the controller on the loading screen, turning it on again, and then pressing X worked for them.
Check if this quick workaround does the trick for you.
Log out and launch FIFA again
- Launch FIFA without signing with your profile
- A message will appear, select Continue without saving
- When the FIFA home screen shows up, sign in to the menu
- Press Start on your controller, and select your profile
