If you can’t play FIFA on your Nintendo Switch console, don’t give up just yet. Many users complained FUT won’t start. Sometimes your console may fail to connect to FIFA’s servers.
Well, if the game won’t load, freezes, crashes or you’re experiencing other annoying issues, follow the troubleshooting steps below.
How to fix FIFA not working on Nintendo Switch
If you can’t play FIFA on Nintendo Switch, follow the troubleshooting steps below to solve the problem:
- Enter and Exit FUT a few times
- Clear saved data and cache
- Restart your router or connect to a mobile hotspot
- Change your Origin account password
- Uninstall and reinstall FIFA
Enter and exit FUT a few times
Turn off your console and wait for two minutes. Then turn the console on and try exiting and entering Ultimate Team a few times. After 10 tries, you should be able to launch the game properly and play FUT.
Clear saved data and cache
Steps to clear saved data on Nintendo Switch:
- Go to Settings.
- Select Data Management.
- Go to Manage Save Data/Screenshots.
- Select Delete Save Data.
Steps to clear your cache on Nintendo Switch:
- Go to the Home Menu.
- Select System Settings.
- Select System.
- Go to Formatting Options.
- Then select Clear Cache.
- Select the user you want to clear the cache for.
- Follow the rest of the on-screen instructions.
Check your connection
Make sure your Internet connection is working properly. Unplug your router and leave it unplugged for one minute to get rid of flea power and reset the connection to EA’s servers. Then plug your router back into the wall outlet, go back online and check if you can play FIFA.
Alternatively, connect your Switch console to a mobile hotspot and check the results. Change your Internet connection to a hotspot and try reconnecting. You should be able to play FIFA after 10 consecutive attempts.
Change your Origin account password
Try changing your Origin password and check if this solution solves the problem. Most Switch profiles are linked to an Origin account. If you played a previous FIFA version on your console, changing the password should “force” the device to switch to your current FIFA game version.
Reinstall FIFA
If nothing works and you’re still unable to play FIFA on your Nintendo Switch console, uninstall the game. Restart your console and reinstall FIFA.
Check if the issue persists.
