How to fix Epic Games Launcher error 0xc00007b

How do I fix Epic Game Launcher error 0xc00007b?

Extract the .dll files to your launcher

  1. Navigate to the folder where you installed the Epic Games Launcher. The standard path is usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Epic Games.
  2. Then open the DirectXRedist folder.
  3. You should find several .cab files there. They’re simple archive files.
  4. Open the .cab files and extract the .dll files to your desktop.
  5. Then move the .dll files that you extracted to the desktop inside the folder where your launcher is located. The path to follow is usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Epic Games\Launcher\Portal\Binaries\Win32.
  6. Launch the Epic Games Launcher and check if the issue got resolved.

Tweak the launcher’s shortcut settings

Right click on your Epic Games Launcher shortcut on the desktop. Then select Properties. In the target field, add a space after launcher.exe and add -OpenGL.

Run DISM and SFC

  1. Press the Windows key, type in CMD, right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as an administrator.
  2. Run the DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth command and hit Enter.
  3. Then run the sfc /scannow command.
  4. Wait until the process completes and check if the launcher is working now.

Update .NET Framework and MS Visual C++

Download the latest .NET Framework and Microsoft Visual C++ versions on your machine.

Reinstall the Epic Games Launcher

  1. Type in “programs” in the Windows search field to open the Add or remove programs section.
  2. Locate the Epic Games Launcher.
  3. Select it and click on the Uninstall button.
  4. Restart your computer, and download the latest installer from the official Epic Games website.

Clean install Windows
