This guide covers the issue where Death Stranding gamers are not getting stars after completing their missions. We’ll talk about why that happens and what you can do about it.
Many players noticed that increasing their bond with the Novelist’s Son is more difficult than they initially thought. Finding him in the Central Region of Death Stranding is easy, but increasing the bond status is anything but easy.
Irrespective of the number of orders you complete, the status seems to remain stuck at a single star. You may also notice you’re not getting as many likes as you deserve.
It appears this ordeal is actually a design oversight rather than a game glitch or bug. The good news is that there is a solution you can use to fix the bond progress problem in Death Stranding.
Do This if You’re Not Getting Stars in Death Stranding
- Step 1 – Find a location that has a Private Room. The quickest way to find one such location is to go to Distribution Centers.
- Step 2 – Let Sam rest. He really needs some rest.
- Step 3 – When he wakes up, he should get an email from the Novelist’s Son
- Step 4 – Read the email. This will trigger bond progress tracking after you complete some more deliveries.
So, there are two main reasons why the stars appear to be stuck:
- There is an email you haven’t read in regards to the game character you’re trying to level up. Sleeping at a safe house will bring up the email as soon as the character in question wakes up.
- You are not doing deliveries where you need to drop things off at the main location of the person you’re trying to level up.
Additional solutions
Some players suggested the game might be affected by some sort of a memory problem. This seems to occur after long gaming sessions. As a workaround, once you’ve made an important delivery and the reputation is barely filling, try restarting the console. This simple method allegedly fixed the problem for many.
And now you know.
