Does this Cyberpunk error message sound familiar to you? If the answer is yes, and you’re looking for a solution to fix this problem, follow the troubleshooting suggestions below.

How do I fix Unhandled Exception errors in Cyberpunk?

  • Reinstall your drivers. Make sure you’re running the latest graphics drivers to enjoy a smooth gaming experience.
  • Update your Windows 10 OS. Don’t run Cyberpunk on an older OS version, as this can destabilize the system.
  • Uninstall GOG /Steam, and restart your machine. Wait one or two minutes, and reinstall your game client.
  • Clean boot  your computer. If the error is gone, this indicates one of the apps or programs installed on your machine is interfering with Cyberpunk. Try to identify the culprit and uninstall it from your computer. As a quick reminder, most crashes are the result of Cyberpunk conflicting with something else on your computer.
  • Validate game files via GOG or Steam. Additionally, make sure to update your GOG and Steam version.
  • Go to the %UserProfile%\AppData\Local\CD Projekt Red directory and turn off the Read-Only option.
  • Start Cyberpunk2077.exe directly from the installation folder. If the error occurs when you’re launching the game using GOG or Steam, check if you can use the executable file directly. For example, if you’re using GOG, the path to follow should be this one: C:\Program Files (x86)\\GOG Galaxy\Cyberpunk 2077\bin\x64\Cyberpunk2077.exe.
  • Disable overclocking software and check if you can play the game without any issues.
  • Install the latest Microsoft Redistributables. Microsoft Redistributables are required for running your games smoothly. Ensure you’re running the latest Visual Studio and Visual C++ version available for your machine. The best solution is to install your Redistributables file manually to avoid older versions somehow getting installed after installing a new version.
  • Uninstall Cyberpunk, restart your computer, and install the game again. If any of your game files got corruption, reinstalling the title should fix the problem.
  • Run SFC and DISM to scan and repair system errors.
